Wireless service providers have increased their spending on online ads, according to the latest statistics from Nielsen-Netratings.
The research indicates that wireless advertisers comprised 2.4 percent of the entire online advertising market during May-September 2002.
AM&T Wireless topped the list of wireless advertisers, claiming 50 percent of the online advertising market.
Verizon Wireless obtained a 31 percent share during the period while Sprint PCS posted a 12 percent share.
Rounding out the list of top wireless advertisers are T-Mobile and Cingular, who claimed three percent and two percent respectively.
According to Nielsen-Netratings, 65 percent of all wireless providers places online ads which featured offers for phone equipment or calling plans.
